About the Oregon Logging Conference
2024’s show marks the 86th annual Oregon Logging Conference - not bad for a small gathering put together by 3 men in 1938.
The first meeting of loggers in the region was organized by Archie Whisnant, William Greeley, and Herb Cox, all of whom worked for different logging/lumbermen organizations on the West Coast.

At first, the conference was known as the Williamette Valley Logging Conference and was held at the Osburn Hotel in Eugene, Oregon.
In 1959 the Oregon Logging Conference was established, but ever since the first meeting in 1938, the event has been held in Eugene. Now, the Oregon Logging Conference is the largest equipment tradeshow west of the Mississippi.
